We went here after hearing a bit about this place, looking for some real
Mexican food, or something close to it. Well, this would be the place.
It's a small place, very casual, diner style place run by the husband and the wife. The service is great, the place is clean.
We ordered the enchiladas and the tacos. The enchiladas were amazing. I loved the sauce, it was amazing so was the refried beans and the rice.
Can't wait to go back. -

I was so excited to finally have a real mexican person create what I thought was a mexican restaurant! I payed a lot of money today for food that had no authentic mexican flavour.

After eating out, I realised that I prefer more homey mom 'n pop places that just serve good food. Sure, I can appreciate nice décor, fancy plating, but for the most part, I just think of those things as a distraction. Enter ViMex Corner.
Run by a Vietnamese wife and her Mexican husband who does the cooking, hence the name, ViMex. The wife was quite friendly and stated that she doesn't do any of the cooking! :) Husband was very smiley.
Menu is straight forward, no frills, and there are photos. They also serve beer, wine, and margarita-type mixed drinks. I would've loved to see a horchata/jamaica.
Dinner items were in and around $10, think: burrito, chimichanga, quesadilla, tacos, etc. I got the chimi since I don't see it that often on menus and it wasn't heavy or super deep fried. Shell is golden yellow and it came with a side of pico de gallo and a salsa verde, slightly spicy. Chimi was quite big and I wasn't able to finish it.
Recommended and I'd definitely go back and remember to save room for the fried ice cream or churros! -
